That might be a little steep, but the ideal thing to do would be look at other sites specifically for dentists and see what they are charging.
www.officite.com is specifically for doctors, including dentists, and it seems their prices start at $995.
www.dentalwebdesigner.com only build sites for dentists — their deluxe package: $399 setup plus $39.95/month.
There there is www.joyvill.ca/website-design-dental.html charging: 5-page basic dental design cost $1600 CAD including all the settings to the site up and running.
www.dentistry21.com/web_design has a link on their home page to their prices, which start at $499, plus $25/mos for hosting.
There doesn't seem to be any average cost. So, I guess you can charge whatever you want.
