Carl said ... before I accidentally deleted his post:

Hi all, I want to set up an online presence for my dad's business which sells home appliances and ladies accessories. Basically, put the company's name out there, show the products online and a shopping cart to go as well.

Should I go with a blog or a website builder? Yes, I am trying to use free resources for the moment.

Please advise or comment. Thanks!

Sorry for deleting your post, Carl.

I guess it depends on what you're the most comfortable working with. Using one of the free Wordpress themes and then changing the header images and a few other minor changes... give you a nice looking site. This is a good option if you're not comfortable working with graphics and developing webpages from scratch. Of coures there are free open source web templates that you can download and customize too.

There is also a free shopping cart service called Mal's Ecommerce. I've never used it myself, but I've heard others say they liked it.

I don't know how well Mal's service would work with a blog but there is a WordPress shopping cart plugin. I haven't tried this one either.

Hope this helps!

Best Regards,
Steve MacLellan
