When I was first divorced I joined a support group. I didn't last too long in this group. Everyone was just soooooo negative. And you can't dwell on the past...

The OverEx.net Blog is meant to shed some humor into the lives of those it touches. The advice offered is apt to be crude, in bad taste, and meant to be taken lightly. I feel there are some circumstances in our life that slip beyond our control, and although you can't always control the circumstance, you can control how you react to it.

Don't Marry Career Women

Michael Noer, editor, Forbes Magazine, published a editorial on Aug 22nd of this year about two-career relationships. His advice is:

Guys: a word of advice. Marry pretty women or ugly ones. Short ones or tall ones. Blondes or brunettes. Just, whatever you do, don't marry a woman with a career.

Elizabeth Corcoran, a member of their Silicon Valley bureau, sent in her rebuttal, saying:

I'm not usually a fan of dipstick tests, particularly when it comes to marriage and relationships. But a downright frightening story written by my colleague, Michael Noer, on our Web site today drove me to it. According to the experts cited by Michael, marrying a "career girl" seems to lead to a fate worse than tangling with a hungry cougar.

We've seen the discussions about "strong independent women" and the men who like, and dislike them. What about the survival rate of two career driven people?

The concepts of Yin and Yang originate in ancient Chinese philosophy and metaphysics, which describes two primal opposing but complementary forces found in all things in the universe.

Typically, Yin (receptive, feminine, dark, passive force) and Yang (creative, masculine, bright, active force) are descriptions of complementary opposites rather than absolutes.

If you don't have a complementary opposite, then... do you suppose it breaks the idea of "two primal opposing but complementary forces" co-existing? Is it possible?
